Dr. Alan Mahler passed away this April just as spring was beginning to bring flowers and birds back to his yard. A long-time resident of Roseville, Dr. Mahler was a beloved husband, father, physician, and friend. Born in Albert Lea, Dr. Mahler graduated from Mankato State and entered the University of Minnesota’s College of Pharmacy, eventually entering the University of Minnesota Medical School and completing in internship at St. Paul Ramsey.
Dr. Mahler was drafted into the Army in 1966 as a Captain in the U.S. Army Medical Corps where he served for two years including in Vietnam. After returning to civilian life, he built a life with his second wife, Donna Marie Boulay. His life was filled with simple pleasures, fishing and hunting with his sons, golfing and reading at home, and enjoying friends.
Dr. Mahler is survived by his wife, sons’ Paul (Marykay) and Tom (Michelle) and four grandchildren, Katie, William, Ally, and Emma.
Funeral services have been held. Interment was at Roselawn Cemetery.
