Minnesota Winds Second Season Opener

Minnesota Winds, the state’s new professional concert band, is kicking off season two on Sunday, September 27 at 2 p.m. at Benson Great Hall (Bethel University, Arden Hills).
This special program, curated by St. Anthony Village High School alum Mallory Thompson and Minnesota Winds artistic director Katherine Bergman, features musical explorations of American composers who found inspiration in the diverse people, spiritual traditions and landscapes of this country. Beginning with Joan Tower’s “Fanfare for the Uncommon Woman” and culminating with David Maslanka’s monumental “Symphony No. 4”, this concert takes us on an adventure through the rich artistic and emotional range of the concert band art form.
Minnesota Winds was created to celebrate and advance Minnesota’s rich band tradition. One of only a handful of professional bands across the United States, the ensemble brings together exceptional musicians, dynamic programming and education partnerships to showcase the artistry and impact of band.
General admission tickets start at $38. Student tickets are $15.
