Lake Hiawatha BioBlitz

BioBlitz Minneapolis Parks is a series of community science events to collect data on biodiversity in Minneapolis parks. Participants use the tool iNaturalist to discover and identify as many species as possible at a specific location and over a defined time period.
On Saturday, June 20, BioBlitz comes to Lake Hiawatha Park — 2701 E 44th St., Minneapolis. Keep an eye out for turtles!
A general overview of the schedule of the day is as follows:
- Early morning birding: 7:30 – 9 a.m.
- iNaturalist Crash Course: 8:30 – 9 a.m.
- Morning session: 9:15 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.
- Block A: 9:15 – 10:40 a.m.
- Block B: 10:50 a.m. – 12:15 p.m.
- Lunch: 12:15 – 1 p.m.
- Afternoon session: 1 – 4 p.m.
- Block C: 1 – 2:25 p.m.
- Block D: 2:35 – 4 p.m.
Feel free to sign up for as much or as little of the day makes sense for you! You may choose one survey group per block, up to two per morning/afternoon session. If you choose to sign up for both the morning and afternoon sessions, a light lunch will be provided to you in between the sessions.
