Arnie J. Triemert (1946-2025)

Arnold J. “Arnie” Triemert of Hugo, Minn. passed way peacefully in his sleep on Dec. 21. He was 79.

Triemert was born on July 16, 1946 to August and Florence (White) Triemert and grew up on the east side of St. Paul, Minn. He owned and operated a commercial painting business until 2010.

Triemert also had lifelong passions for riding motorcycles and restoring classic cars.

He is survived by his children, Jamie (Carrie) Triemert, Matt Hoover, John Rumley and Mary Beth Schlesinger, granddaughter Jami Triemert and brothers and sisters.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 30, at Mueller-Bies Funeral Home in Roseville. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 29 and from 10-11 a.m. on Tuesday at the funeral home.

Interment will be at Roselawn Cemetery, with a reception to follow.

Donald Leon Murphy (1934-2025)

Donald Leon Murphy, a longtime resident of Maplewood, Minn. most recently of Mendota Heights, Minn., passed away on Tuesday. He was 91.

Murphy was born in St. Paul, Minn., grew up in West St. Paul, Minn. and graduated from South St. Paul High School in 1952. He completed an apprenticeship in carpentry, belonged to Carpenter’s Union 87 and worked for Tilsen Construction for much of his career.

Murphy was preceded in death by his wife Jeanne Benesch, parents Leon and Hildegarde Murphy, brother Neil Murphy and sister Kathy Feifarek.

He is survived by his four children: Sandy (John) Ostby, Mike (Kristin) and Daniel Murphy and Connie (Bill) Van Kirk, as well as thirteen grandchildren, twenty-five great-grandchildren, brothers-in-law Bob Feifarek, Greg Benesch and Mike Mandell, sister-in-law Mary Jo (Benesch) Mandell and many nieces and nephews.

Murphy’s funeral will take place on Tuesday, Jan. 6 at the Church of St. Peter, 2600 Margaret St. N., North St. Paul, Minn. Visitation will be from 9:30-11 a.m. with Mass at 11 a.m.. Burial will follow immediately at St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in North St. Paul. A luncheon will be served at the church following the burial.

David R. Rowe (1961-2025)

David R. Rowe of Ham Lake, Minn. passed away on Tuesday. He was 64.

Rowe enjoyed life’s simple pleasures and was happiest around his family. His interests included camping and bowling, and he was a diehard fan of the Minnesota Twins and Vikings.

Rowe was preceded in death by his wife Sally, mother Colleen Bultus (Lenny), father Robert Rowe, brother Rodney Rowe (Laura) and parents-in-law Frank & Lorraine Douglas.

He is survived by his sons Matt (Jenny), Jeff (Ashley) and Danny (Brittany), grandchildren Delana, Slade, Mira, Aurora and Gwen, sister Pam (Keith) Axtman, nephews Colton and Quinlan, niece MaKenna, sister-in-law Lisa Douglas and many other close family and friends.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 11 a.m. – 3 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 2 at Flaherty’s Arden Bowl, 1273 County Rd. E, Arden Hills, Minn. 55112. Guests are asked to please wear Vikings gear to the celebration. Reception to follow at son and daughter-in-law Jeff & Ashley’s.

Lyle R. Hovda (1941-2025)

Lyle R. Hovda of River Falls, Wis. passed away peacefully in his home on Saturday. He was 84.

Originally from St. Paul, Minn., Hovda resided in Vadnais Heights, Minn. while raising up children and settled later in life in River Falls, like the Packers fan he is, with his life partner, Cathy Gunderson.

Hovda owned and operated The Golden Shear, a barbershop on St. Paul’s east side, for over 30 years. In his spare time, he loved being near the water.

Hovda is survived by his four children, Pamela, Rick and Chris Hovda and Paula Adamson, five grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren and two great-great-grandchildren.

A Celebration of Lyle’s life will be held from 4-7 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 9 at Mueller-Bies Funeral Home in Roseville.

Phillip L. Pommier (1949-2025)

Phillip Lee “Phil” Pommier of Roseville, Minn. passed away on Wednesday. He was 76.

Pommier was born on Sept. 29, 1949 in Slayton, Minn., three hours southwest of the Twin Cities, and grew up on a dairy farm. He graduated from Eagle Bend High School and joined the United States Air Force. Hardworking and dedicated, he spent over 20 years working at Knox Lumber and the remainder of his career at the Minnesota Department of Transportation, retiring thereafter.

Pommier always made time for his family and passions and raved about the deer he would see on his walks on Roseville area trails.

Pommier is survived by his wife, Maureen, two sons Jason (Stephanie) and Nathan (Michelle), four grandchildren, siblings Carol (George) Warner, Charles (Linda) Pommier, Marilyn (Dennis) Drong, Warren (Laura) Pommier, Jean (Jerome) Wigdahl, Kathleen (Michael) McGill, Richard (Gabi) Pommier, Mark Pommier, and Steve (Colleen) Pommier, as well as many friends and extended family members who will miss him dearly.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 9 at Maternity of Mary Catholic Church, 1414 N. Dale St., in St. Paul, Minn. Visitation will be at the church from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. on Friday. A reception/luncheon will be held immediately following the mass.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Wildlife Rehabilitation Center of Minnesota in memory of Pommier.
