James Erich Nollan of Hastings, Minn. passed away peacefully on Saturday after a long illness. He was 80.
Nollan owned his own television repair shop back when televisions had tubes. He was also proud to hold an FCC license. He worked for the Burlington Northern Railroad for 21 years as a computer programmer/analyst.
Nollan had a gift for making people laugh and enjoyed playing jokes on others. One of his “Jim-isms”: “Home is where your underwear drawer is.”
Nollan was preceded in death by his parents Erich and Marcella (Wambach), brother-in-law William Kirscht and nephews James and Robert Kirscht.
He is survived by his loving wife Gail, children Christopher (Sharon) Nollan and Mary (James) Beach, grandchildren Michael (Kenzie) Nollan, Erich (Neely) Nollan, Victoria (Jarod) Jorsch and Hannah Beach, great-grandchildren James Tweet and Jaycee Jorsch, siblings Patricia (Lloyd) Kirscht, Kathleen Kirscht and Michael (Sandy) Nollan, as well as many nieces and nephews.
