Marilyn Rae Halverson (1943-2026)

Marilyn Rae Halverson passed away peacefully on Monday with her daughter and grandaughter by her side. She was 83 years old.

Halverson was born on June 12, 1943 in Berne, Minn., about 30 minutes northwest of Rochester, Minn. She graduated from West Concord High School in West Concord, Minn., just west of Berne, in 1961. She went on to have a 33-year career at Wells Fargo.

Halverson was an avid Minnesota sports fan and loved collecting memorabilia. She and her husband Fred also thoroughly enjoyed their cabin in Grand Marais on Devil’s Track Lake.

Halverson loved visiting with friends and rubbing elbows with sports memorabilia dealers. She often said, “If you don’t laugh, you’ll cry.” Her positive attitude gave her super strength and carried her far in life.

Halverson was preceded in death by her husband and parents Ronald and Lula Bennerotte. She is survived by her daughter Dianna (Todd) Peters, grandson Eddie Peters, granddaughter Sara (Jason) Noren and siblings Roland (Lynda) Bennerotte, M. Kay Kleven and Randy (Julie) Bennerotte.

Sandra Lea Alt (1957-2026)

Sandra Lea “Sandy” Alt of St. Paul, Minn. passed away on Sunday. She was 68.

Alt was preceded in death by her son Thomas Graves. She is survived by her daughter Crystal Graves and son Henry Larkins.

The service will be live streamed. A link will be provided closer to the service date.

Bill Winkel (1946-2026)

  • Memorial visitation: Friday, July 24, 4-8 p.m., Mueller-Bies Funeral Home — Roseville

Bill Winkel passed away peacefully on Sunday. He was 80.

Winkel worked as a sheriff deputy in Ramsey County for 26 years. He enjoyed doing crossword puzzles, golfing and bonfires with his family.

Winkel was preceded in death by his parents Anthony and Clara Winkel and brother Bob Winkel. He is survived by his loving wife of 53 years Gloria Winkel, sons Mark (Jill) and Steve (Emily) Winkel, sister Ann Schmidt, grandchildren Miranda, Logan, Tony, Victoria, Steph and Lindsey, one great-grandchild and nine nieces and nephews.
