James Thomas “Jim” Hielsberg of Roseville passed away on Saturday. He was 77.
Hielsberg was born on April 4, 1949 in St. Paul, Minn. to Marguerite and Henry O. Hielsberg. To friends and family, he was known for his commitment to help others when needed, his sense of humor and generosity.
Hielsberg worked as a heavy equipment mechanic for many years. When the opportunity permitted, he enjoyed fishing, touring and spending time with friends and family. He was an avid hockey fan and long-suffering Vikings fan. In recent years, he found the most joy in attending his granddaughter’s athletic activities and spending time with them.
Hielsberg was preceded in death by his parents and brother John “Scott” Hielsberg. He is survived by his sons Matthew, Joshua and Thomas, granddaughters Anna, Lexi and Lana, brother Kurt and sister Jan.
Jim will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
