Violet Mildred Hurley (1925-2025)

Violet M. Hurley of Little Canada, Minn. passed away peacefully on Dec. 9 at the age of 100.

Hurley was born July 11, 1925 to Charles and Ione Bogie in Glenwood, Minn., which is two hours northwest of the Twin Cities. She graduated from Glenwood High School and moved to St. Paul where she met her beloved husband, Patrick, with whom she had five children: Barbara, Patricia, Karen, Terry and Robin.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband, son, Terry and her five brothers Clint, Dave, Jim, Wylee and Gary Bogie.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, Dec. 30 at St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 380 E. Little Canada Road, Little Canada. Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. at the church.

Kathleen “Cathy” A. Schlicht (1953-2025)

Kathleen A. Schlicht, aka Cathy, of Circle Pines, Minn. passed away suddenly on Friday at the age of 72.

Schlicht spent her life taking care of adults with disabilities, working 20 years at Merrick Inc. in Vadnais Heights, Minn. She loved fishing and her slot machines, but most of all she loved her grandchildren and hoped to be a great-grandmother someday.

Schlicht was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Helen Eggerth.

She is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, David, children Keri (Brad Welch) and David Schlicht and Tanya (Terry) Hassler, grandchildren Skye (Alec) Royal, Dominic (Laura) Mauricio, Matilyn (Colin) Weldon, Angelica, Mason, Connor, DJ and Taylor Schlicht and Kimberly and Destyni Rosas, and sister Char (Greg) Smith.

Visitation will be held from 10-11 a.m. on Saturday, Dec. 20 at Mueller-Bies Funeral Home in Lino Lakes, Minn., 7050 Lake Dr. (County Hwy. 23), followed by a funeral service at 11 a.m.

In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred to Merrick, Inc. (3210 Labore Rd., Vadnais Heights, MN 55110).
