Joan R. Sheptak (1935-2026)

Joan Sheptak of Little Canada, Minn. passed away peacefully on Saturday. She was 91.

Sheptak lived a life marked by kindness, steadiness and quiet resilience. She was proud of her over 30-year career with Dayton Hudson, which she watched transition from Dayton’s to Marshall Field’s, and finally to Macy’s — a journey she spoke of often and with great pride.

She found joy in simple pleasures: watching her favorite John Wayne movies, surrounding herself with the color pink and listening to the music she loved. Those who knew her will remember her gentle presence and the quiet warmth she brought to every day.

She was preceded in death by her husband Wallace, Sr., sister Dorothy Schontz and brother John Wallak.

She is survived by her son Wally (Candis), sisters Linda Bowser and Julie (Lenny) Green and many others who were touched by her life.
