Patrick M. “Pat” O’Day of St. Paul, Minn. passed away peacefully at his home on Friday. He was 76.
O’Day was born in St. Paul on July 18, 1949. He graduated from St. Agnes High School in 1967 before proudly serving his country in the United States Navy.
Following his military service, O’Day began a long career with 3M. He met the love of his life, MaryPat, through the company’s ski team. They married in 1980 and had twin daughters, Katie and Amanda. They built a life centered on family, love and shared memories.
Later in his career, O’Day returned to school to study computer-aided design engineering, a field in which he worked until his retirement.
In 1998, O’Day became a member of the St. Paul Winter Carnival Vulcans, an organization that held a special place in his heart. He remained an active and dedicated Vulcan throughout the rest of his life and was incredibly proud to be part of the organization.
O’Day will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him. His kindness, dedication, sense of community and devotion to his family leave a lasting legacy that will never be forgotten.
O’Day was preceded in death by his parents Thomas Russell and Fern O’Day. He is survived by his daughters Kathleen (Carl) Klett and Amanda (Mike) Kroska, grandchildren Nathan and Luke Kroska and Karisa and Kevin Klett, sister Rosella (Larry) Ries, former wife MaryPat O’Day (George Rankin) and other family and friends.

Rae Carol Connolly, née Nordquist, passed away peacefully on June 19 in Lakeville, Minn. She was 76.
Connolly will be remembered for her love of family, dedication to her church and caring service to others.
She worked as a paraprofessional at Como Elementary School in St. Paul for 25 years, serving special education students. She truly loved working with her students and found great joy in helping them learn, grow and succeed. Her patience, compassion and caring spirit made a lasting difference in the lives of many children and families.
Connolly enjoyed preserving family memories through scrapbooking, searching for treasures in antique shops and spending time with those she loved. Sharing her homemade baked goods was one of the many ways she expressed her love and care for others.
Connolly was preceded in death by her parents Marvin and Audrey Nordquist, parents in-law Thomas and Jean Connolly, sister-in-law Jane Connolly, nieces Anna Taylor and Jennifer Connolly and great nephew Thomas Palumbo.
She is survived by her husband of 56 years James Connolly, daughter Tricia Connolly, beloved dog Benji, brother Marvin (Marilyn) Nordquist, sister Patricia (Ken) Siskoff, brothers-in-law Tom and Pat (Sue) Connolly, many beloved nieces and nephews and countless friends and members of her church family.
Private internment at Elmhurst Cemetery. Memorials preferred to St. John Evangelical Lutheran Church.
