What’s on the ballot Nov. 4

On Nov. 4, Ramsey County is holding elections for its local offices. The races include city, school board and municipal contests. Read on for information on these races as well as early and Election Day voting information.

City and Township Races

  • Falcon Heights
    • City Council (At‑large, vote for 2)
    • All voters may vote for up to two candidates.
    • Jeremy Hallowanger (Nonpartisan), Georgiana May (Nonpartisan), Eric Meyer (Nonpartisan) and Jim Mogen (Nonpartisan) are running.
  • St. Anthony
    • City Council (At‑large, vote for 2)
    • All voters may vote for up to two candidates.
    • Nadia A. Elnagdy (Nonpartisan) and Jan Jenson (Nonpartisan) are running.
  • St. Paul
    • Mayor’s race
    • Melvin Carter III (Nonpartisan), Yan Chen (Nonpartisan), Adam Dullinger (Nonpartisan), Kaohly Her (Nonpartisan) and Mike Hilborn (Nonpartisan) are running.
  • White Bear Lake
    • Mayor and city council wards up for election
    • Stephen Laliberte (Nonpartisan) and Mary Nicklawske are running for mayor.
    • Ellen Gurrola (Nonpartisan) is running for Council Ward 2 and Kevin L. Edberg (Nonpartisan) for Council Ward 4.
    • Nicklawske shared that she wants to ensure taxes are well spent and ensure there are many resources and platforms to serve the large aging population.

School Board Races

  • Roseville Area Schools: At‑large, vote for 3
    • Mannix Clark (Nonpartisan), Geida Cleveland (Nonpartisan), Karl Crump (Nonpartisan) and Michelle Morse-Wendt (Nonpartisan) are running.
  • Mounds View Public Schools: At‑large, vote for 3 seats
    • Shauna Bock (Nonpartisan), Shea Bruce (Nonpartisan), Tascha Just (Nonpartisan) and Mark Sacay (Nonpartisan) are running.
  • North St. Paul‑Maplewood‑Oakdale (SD 622): At‑large (special) election
    • Justin Middaugh (Nonpartisan) and Sam Rosemark (Nonpartisan) are running.
  • St. Anthony‑New Brighton (ISD 282): At‑large, vote for 3 (plus special)
    • Annie Bosmans (Nonpartisan), Laura Haas (Nonpartisan) and Prachi Striker (Nonpartisan) are running for ISD 282.
    • Michael Overman (Nonpartisan) and Daniel Turner (Nonpartisan) are running for ISD 282 (special).

Voter Info & Early Voting

Absentee / Early Voting (Vote Before Election Day):

  • All voters in Minnesota may vote early via absentee ballot.
  • Absentee voting (in person or by mail) begins Sept. 19 for the Nov. 4 election.
  • The Ramsey County Elections Office in the Plato Building (90 W. Plato Blvd., Saint Paul) is open for early in-person voting Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturday, Nov. 1, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Additionally, on Monday, Nov. 3, hours extend to 5 p.m.
  • Other early voting locations (open Oct. 17 to Nov. 3, weekdays 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.) include:
    • Ramsey County Library – Roseville
    • Ramsey County Library – Shoreview
    • Arlington Hills Community Center
    • North End Community Center
  • Extended hours at those additional locations and the Plato Building are planned for Saturday, Nov. 1 (9 a.m. to 3 p.m.)

On Election Day (Nov. 4):

  • Polls are open 7 a.m. to 8 p.m. at your assigned polling place.
  • You must vote at your assigned polling place (it may have changed).
  • If you’ve already requested an absentee ballot but choose to vote in person, your absentee ballot will be spoiled, and you’ll be issued a new ballot at the polling place.
  • You cannot return your absentee ballot at polling places that day. If you need to return it in person, please visit the Ramsey County Elections Office (Plato Building) by 5 p.m.
