The former Bates Dental entered a new space and a new era in February with a focus on personalized care

As of February 23, Rosedale Dental, formerly Bates Dental, is now located at 1781 W County Road B in Roseville.
The practice is home to three dentists, Dr. David Bates, Dr. Katie Hannon and Dr. Isabella Tonarelli, along with a staff of experienced dental hygienists, assistants and business support.
New name, new look, same quality of care
Originally built in 1978, the interior of Rosedale Dental’s new facility was remodeled to create a warm and comfortable environment. Rosedale Dental’s contemporary design, with large windows and plenty of open space, now houses 14 operatories, a welcoming reception and waiting area, private offices, a conference room and ample storage for sterilized materials and technical equipment. Located on just over 1.2 acres, there is plenty of off-street parking to accommodate patients and employees.
Dr. Bates is a second-generation dentist who spent a decade working with his father, Dr. Bruce Bates, who first opened the Bates Dental practice in 1973.
Dr. David Bates is a graduate of the University of Southern California School of Dentistry and is an active member in numerous local and national dental professional organizations. He also has another dental office, Loop Dental, in Minneapolis’ North Loop neighborhood.
Dr. Tonarelli is a Chicago-area native who recently relocated to Roseville. Her undergraduate work was completed at Loyola University and she graduated from dental school at Midwestern University in suburban Chicago.
Dr. Hannon attended the University of Minnesota and graduated with distinction from the School of Dentistry.
Dr. Bates is now in the Mpls./St. Paul Magazine Top Dentists Hall of Fame after landing on their yearly Top Dentist list for the past 10 years. He is adept at complex restorative dentistry and offers cosmetics dentistry as well. He and Dr. Hannon are certified by the American Academy of Facial Esthetics to learn proper Botox application techniques for both therapeutic and cosmetic uses.
Prioritizing care and community
Dr. Bates sees the trend of dentistry over the past 20-25 years as reducing choice and care. All three Rosedale dentists share a passion for a personalized approach to dental care.
Dr. Bates also believes in charitable giving, especially intended to meet various moments experienced by the community. He donates toothbrushes, toothpaste and floss to various shelters and community programs and portions of revenue to local food shelves. For example, during Operation Metro Surge, Dr. Bates donated 20% of his revenue to the Joyce Uptown Food Shelf in Minneapolis.
Rosedale Dental is open Monday through Thursday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., closed Fridays. Their practice includes general, cosmetic and family dentistry. An open house event is planned for when the weather is warmer and the outside is completed.
