ROSEVILLE, MINN. — Several businesses in Roseville will be closed on Friday to show solidarity with the “ICE Out of MN” movement, joining businesses around the Twin Cities and across the state doing the same.

The movement designates Friday as a “Day of Truth and Freedom,” encouraging people not to go to work or school and not to shop in order to create an economic blackout, calling instead for “community, conscience and collective action,” per its website.

“The ICE ‘surge’ that cost the life of Renee Nicole Good is violating the Constitutional and human rights of Americans and our neighbors,” the site says. “It is time to suspend the normal order of business to demand immediate cessation of ICE actions in MN.”

Bring Me The News has compiled a list of over 200 businesses participating in the blackout. Participating Roseville businesses include:

There will also be a march to downtown Minneapolis beginning at The Commons Park, located at 425 Portland Ave. S.
